One of the key missions of the PTSO is to raise money to fund teacher requests, field trip scholarships, district financial obligations (PTOCC and money to support the education bonds), speakers for both parents and students, and other needs. Please consider one or more of the following options for contributing financially to the Eagle Harbor PTSO:
Each family is asked to donate $100 to the PTSO. We would love to have 100% participation in our donation drive. If the suggested amount is beyond your family’s budget, please give at whatever level you feel comfortable to support our students and teachers. You can make a donation via PayPal using the Donation link below, or you can make a check out to EHHS PTSO and return it to the school office via student, in person, or by mail.
Note: Since the PTSO has 501c3 status (parent org is Bainbridge Island Parent-Teacher Organization / EIN: 91-0977467), your donations (but not purchases) are tax deductable, and matchable by some employers.
If you have questions, contact Anita Brown-Sobeck (contact info is here).
You can now make donations to the Bainbridge Island Schools Foundation or the Bainbridge Island Parent-Teacher- Student Organization while shopping at Amazon. To select the Bainbridge Island Parent-Teacher organization, select this link Amazon Smile and then shop there just as you would at www.amazon.com. Amazon will then donate 0.5% of the purchase price to the charity of your choice.
Smith Brothers Farms
If you are not currently a customer of Smith Brothers Farms home delivery service and would like to have fresh dairy products delivered to your home, then sign up for this service and Smith Brothers will donate $20 to our PTSO! Their milk is 100% rBST free and they also offer eggs, cheese, breakfast treats, juices and fresh baked goods. Go to their website and enter PTA when they ask how you heard about them. They need to deliver four times for us to get the donation, but we’re betting you will like their products and the convenience and continue beyond that. If you have questions, their number is: 1-877-milkman. Or, you can contact Judi Leader (206.842.4370 / email@example.com) who is very happy with her home deliveries each week.
The eScrip program is a fundraising program that allows participating merchants to contribute a percentage of your grocery loyalty cards, credit card, and debit/ATM card purchases to the school or organization of your choice. All you need to do is register one or more or these cards with eScrip.com and designate Eagle Harbor High School (Group ID 500004500) as the beneficiary. The Eagle Harbor PTSO then receives a portion of your purchases each month! Note, this registration needs to be done on an annual basis. The main loyalty card of interest for our area is a Safeway loyalty card. You can also register credit and debit cards that you use with online merchants (Amazon, REI, Macy’s, Walmart and many others). When a registered card is used online at a participating merchant, the merchant will donate a percentage of the purchase to our PTSO. Please visit the eScrip website to register your loyalty cards and credit/debit cards.
Box Tops for Education is another common school fundraising option. Just look for the Box Tops logo on hundreds of products in grocery stores. All you need to do is clip the box tops and drop them off at the Commodore office. Each one is worth 10¢. A modest amount, but it can add up if you eat enough Cheerios. Please visit the Box Tops for Education website if you’re interested in additional details.
Shoparoo is a new fundraising option for schools. Shoparoo provides free iPhone and Android apps that basically turn pictures of your shopping receipts into donations to our school. It’s quick, easy, and convenient – shop anywhere you want, buy whatever you normally buy. Just take a few seconds to snap a quick picture of your receipt and you’ve made an instant cash donation to our school. So, all you have to do is:
1. Download the free Shoparoo app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. 2. Launch the app and select our school as your cause. 3. Take pictures of your shopping receipts.
There is no limit on how much money we can raise with Shoparoo. At the end of the school year, Shoparoo will mail the PTSO a check based on our receipts. More details are available on the Shoparoo website.
Used Printer Cartridges
You also can drop off used printer cartridges at the Commodore office. These cartridges then will be sent on to an organization that recycles them and gives the PTSO on average between $1.00 and $1.50 per cartridge. So, good for the environment, and good for us.
